Still having trouble?
You use the same username and password for
Online Campus as you do to log on to
the Columbia State lab computers or access Columbia State email. This is
known as your *PVT username and password. To look up your PVT
username, change your PVT password, reset your PVT password, or ask for
help with your PVT username or password, go to
http://helpdesk.columbiastate.edu .
*PVT = Private
If you have
Internet access from home then yes. You can access your Online
Campus course(s) from any computer with an Internet connection.
Since Online
Campus is delivered via a WWW browser, some changes require you
to refresh your screen. You will also need to change your Internet
Explorer settings to refresh every visit to the page. To do that in
Internet Explorer:
- Open
Internet Explorer
- Select Tools
from the menu bar
- Select
Internet Options
- On the
General tab, click Settings for Temporary Internet Files
- Select Every visit to the page
- Click OK
- Click OK
again
- Exit out
of the browser
A video showing you how to do this is available in the
Online Campus
orientation.
Pop-up blockers can
stop you from using several Online Campus tools correctly. Pop-up blocking
functions are included in some anti-virus, internet security, personal
firewall, and toolbar browser programs (such as Google, and Yahoo
toolbar). Even Windows XP Service Pack (SP2) includes a popup
blocker for Internet Explorer 6. This feature can potentially cause
problems with Online Campus. To see how to adjust Internet Explorer (Windows XP
SP2) settings and more information on other browser and toolbar pop-up
issues, click here.

Online Campus is best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Also, Columbia State is a Microsoft software campus. This means that we
install and use Microsoft software, such as Microsoft Office, Windows
operating systems, Internet Explorer, etc. To help provide technical
assistance to all students and faculty, Columbia State will provide
support for Internet Explorer. All Online Campus users should go through the

What is an Access Code? A Student Access Code is a series of letters
and numbers that allow you to access course content (called an e-Pack)
selected by your instructor. Student Access Codes are often confused with
Global IDs or Online Campus IDs, but they are not the same. If you are having
trouble with your Access Code, please contact your instructor.
To open non-webpage (html) attachments, you need to have that program
installed on the computer where you are trying to open it. If you are
opening a PowerPoint file, you need to have PowerPoint installed on
your computer. If you need access to a computer with Microsoft Office, you
can visit one of the campus labs.
It is up to
the individual instructor to decide whether to use Online Campus for their
particular courses. Your instructor will be able to advise you whether
or not their course will be available in Online Campus
No: Online
Campus
email stays within the Online Campus environment, and is not the same a student's
school email or personal email accounts. A student can email the
instructor and anyone else in the class, but cannot email outside of the
class.
To show
previously read email or discussion postings, select "All" next to
